About Plus Massage

Ellen: How I Got Here

I spent many years working in a chair in a software job. I know the dangers of sitting and living with work stress and life stress. summerblue Now I work to relieve pain and stress for my clients. I have a special place in my heart for knowledge workers, those of us who sit in front of (mostly) a computer all day long,  using our minds while neglecting our bodies. I also like to work with anyone that is getting older… as we get older, we start to feel aches and pains, stiffness and soreness that we had not felt before. Massage can help to keep that to a minimum! And I’ve seen enough evidence to know now that regular massage keeps us younger… my 80+ year old mother gets massages weekly and she is in amazing health!

After over 20 years at a desk, I went to school to learn about bodies and how they work… which, by the way, is still a mystery in so many ways.  I have earned my California Massage Therapist License (#53469, for those who care) and now I am a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT), professionally trained with over 700 hours of instruction at the California Holistic Institute in San Luis Obispo, Upledger Institute and other providers. I am certified through the California Massage Therapy Council and a member of Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP). I’m proud to be able to offer this important service for healing, relaxation, relief and blessings to my clients. I’ve recently added CBD Massages to my offerings… what a gift! People love the way they feel and the relaxation they feel afterwards.

As I see it, every hour spent on the table is a moment in time where healing can occur and the experience of peace can be expanded.

Let’s Save the WorldMassage in Paso Robles for World Peace

Life is good but it can be better with a massage.  Life + Massage = A Better Life!

Massage is good for you… it relieves pain, lowers your blood pressure, increases circulation, helps you sleep at night, encourages healing and builds immunity. Bodywork can adjust and correct little problems that create annoying pain, making your daily life that much easier and more enjoyable. Massage can improve your ability to relate to others, as well as to your own mind, spirit and body.

Craniosacral is also good for you… in a different but not-so-different way.  To quote Kate McKinnon, a respected Craniosacral therapist:

Craniosacral therapy is a highly effective light-touch therapy that works with the whole body and the source of pain and dysfunction simultaneously. With CST and given proper support, the body will heal itself, creating a custom solution to any problem that is causing discomfort.

Therapists place their hands over the area of the body that is most related to the source of the problem and they are trained to feel and monitor changes in the body’s tissues.  In the process of monitoring, therapists hands follow changes in the client’s body as it occurs rather than making the decision to move a person’s body in any given direction.

This is the principal difference between CST and most other therapeutic types of bodywork.

Bodywork brings healing and understanding. Let’s face it… if everyone took good care of themselves, including a regular massage, the world would be a better place. Yep, you guessed it… self care can save the world! Do your part for world peace!
